IbB Expertises
IbB Expertises is one of a few large organizations in Europe for accident investigation and reconstruction. IbB is organized as a partnership firm and has more than 30 partner bureaus in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and Hungary. The IbB partners are working on the fields of investigation of accident scenes, examination of vehicles for mechanical or electric/electronic failures, accident reconstruction and analysis, occupant dynamics, injury causation. IbB also performs: technical inspections of motor vehicles, damage estimates, driver education, investigations on insurance fraud or vehicle theft, crash tests for accident reconstruction purposes, examinations of vehicle dynamic behaviour according to the ISO standards, IbB organizes and stages congresses, seminars and workshops.

IbB Informatik is a software development company creating accident reconstruction software. The products are known by the name CARAT (Computer Assisted Reconstruction of Accidents in Traffic). The program family consists of some small programs for solving simple problems in an easy but reliable way and of simulation and animation programs. CARAT Version 3 is a simulation program for application in cases dealing with kinematic and kinetic problems of vehicle movement. It yields reconstruction results and animation primarily in 2-dimensional format. CARAT Version 4 is a very complex fully 3-dimensional multi body simulation and animation program for accident reconstruction, planning of facilities, driver education and research purposes.
