Truck and Trucking Handbook: A Primer
This book was written to provide an overview of trucking and the trucking industry. This basic book is designed for anyone who is interested in learning about different aspects of the industry, whether it be the mechanics of tractors and trailers, their safe operation, loading or federal regulations. The book is an update and expansion of Don Asa's earlier book entitled The Trucking and Truck Accident Handbook published in 1983.
This trucking handbook came out of the collective knowledge of the Ruhl staff, individuals who have investigated and reconstructed heavy vehicle accidents on a daily basis for many years. The Ruhl staff consists of engineers (mechanical, biomechanical, traffic, electrical, and general), accident reconstructionists, and an ASE certified mechanic. The Ruhl staff includes several consultants specializing in truck driver qualifications, training and supervision, as well as compliance and motor carrier issues.
Designed to be used as a reference manual, it includes a glossary, as well as extensive drawings and color photographs to supplement the text.
