Accident Investigation, Reconstruction

Accident investigation and reconstruction requires a breadth of expertise because of the multiple issues involved. Ruhl Forensic staff includes individuals with expertise from such diverse disciplines as: engineering (mechanical, biomedical, civil, electrical and traffic); law enforcement; tractor-trailer driving/instructing, operation and maintenance; state, FMVSS and OSHA enforcement; fire cause and origin.

Once the initial accident investigation has been completed, a thorough reconstruction can determine items such as initial impact speed, pre and post collision vehicle dynamics, vehicle interactions, mechanical failures and occupant dynamics. These factors give key insights into driver actions and reactions in operating the vehicle.

The firm understands the importance of combining legal and engineering efforts to analyze and present the case. We understand the intricacies of presenting written and oral legal issues and that detailed engineering research support must occur. We utilize the scientific method required by court decisions such as Kuhmo.
