Dwayne G. 'Red' Owen

Certified Accident Reconstructionist

As a Department of Transportation and State of Illinois certified accident reconstructionist, Dwayne Owen reconstructs crashes involving vehicles ranging from tractor-trailers and agricultural equipment to motorcycles and bicycles throughout the United States. A retired Deputy Chief of Police with the Freeport, IL Police Department, Mr. Owen has investigated in excess of 6000 motor vehicle accidents. He has trained in the operation and maintenance of heavy duty air brake systems and components through Bendix; he is also certified as a Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) System Operator through Vextronix.

Mr. Owen co-authored the book, Vehicle Accident Investigation: A Guide for Risk Managers and Claims Personnel and is a contributing author to Truck Accident Litigation, Second Edition published by the American Bar Association. Mr. Owen has a commercial driver's license, is a board certified forensic examiner, a professional evidence photographer and a former nationally certified Motorcycle RiderCourse Instructor.
