Dr. Conry is a retained consultant, specializing in mechanical systems design and analysis, vibration, tribology (friction, lubrication and wear), machine dynamics and component failure. He is also Professor Emeritus in the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering (FKA General Engineering) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he served as Department Head for 11 years. Dr. Conry earned his post-graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona and Texas. Dr. Conry has received research grants from the Association of American Railroads, Caterpillar, S&C Electric Company, and General Motors Corporation, among others. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a former Technical Editor of the ASME Journal of Vibrations, Acoustics, Stress and Reliability in Design (now the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics).
